Our new project, Kennett Classic, is our new brick and mortar location in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania USA. Together with vintagecomputer.net, Kennett Classic will help bring to fruition our mission of preserving computing history through restoration, archiving and education.
Kennett Classic is a “vintage computing gallery” that we hope will appeal both to the hobbyist and anyone interested in the history of computing technology. Our inaugural feature exhibit will be “History of Commodore”, including the machines found on our original poster plus a number of rare items never before exhibited. This feature will be available through December 2019. Then starting each quarter we’ll kick off a new feature exhibit with our quarterly gathering event open to the public. Year round we will have other rotating exhibits depicting key historical milestones, rare items and live demos. Check our web site calendar for the schedule.
We’re also a hobbyists’ shop stocked with vintage computing software and after-market hardware, gifts, cards and prints. We will have machines set up to demo the products plus a rotating stock of computer cards, cables, software and parts. We will occasionally sell complete systems.
Be on the look out for our Kennett Classic weekly video podcast in the next few weeks. We have plenty of space for workshops, presentations and special events all of which we will broadcast on our Youtube channel from our Internet communications center room. Check our web site calendar for the schedule.
Why Kennett Square?
We picked Kennett Square because it is centrally located south of Phila and north of Baltimore in a very nice retail space with restaurants, pubs, hotels, music, other museums and galleries. Directions
